FODO members represent 80% of the optical market in the UK and 55% in the Republic of Ireland, so it isn’t surprising that we receive requests for advice and help on a wide range of matters including clinical practice, optical business, employment, and from the NHS.

Being a FODO member has been described as being part of an exclusive ‘family’ with a ‘boutique consultancy’ attached. This is because of our close connection with our members and our commitment always to provide services “By the Best, For the Best”. All queries are therefore handled by our in-house team backed-up by best-in-field experts.

Special reduced legal fees

Ever mindful of business pressures on members, we have negotiated exclusive reduced-fee arrangements for members seeking company-specific advice from leading law firm Field Fisher Waterhouse. This covers world-class and worldwide advice on regulation, retail and commercial matters, technology and outsourcing, intellectual property, data protection, dispute resolution and financial services.

Other services that are provided free to members include the 9-5 business helpline supplied by Croner (for companies) and Berrymans Lace Mawer (for individuals).
