NHS Commissioning

From 1 April 2013, the new organisations created through the Health and Social Care Act 2012 have taken over responsibility for commissioning healthcare services for people in England. This briefing note below, prepared by LOCSU, describes the new structures and organisations.

Greater Choice and Control - NHS & Any Qualified Provider (AQP)

The Government has issued a response to the NHS Reforms  Greater Choice and Control consultation (late 2010), which describes how the AQP system will work, with next steps outlined.

Eye Health Toolkit

The toolkit builds on the work of the Eye Care Services Steering Group, and on the eye care pilots that were set up following that work. As well as providing a substantial amount of background about eye care services more generally, it provides practical advice for primary care trusts and practice based commissioners on commissioning community based eye care services.
