Clinical Commissioning

Clinical Commissioning

NHS Commissioning

In the NHS, commissioning is the term given to the process of identifying what healthcare services local people need and then arranging and procuring these services from local providers. Services are commissioned by CCGs and NHS England on a local, regional and national basis.

Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs)

Clinical Commissioning Groups hold responsibility for commissioning the majority of local healthcare services. You can find a full list of CCGs and a CCG map here.

LOCSU provides support and advice to Local Optical Committees who have or seek contracts to provide locally commissioned services, which you can access here.
