Celebrating World Sight Day 2025!
FODO and its members are delighted to support World Sight Day 2025, which takes place this year on 9 October.
The theme of this year's event, led by the IAPB (International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness), is "Love Your Eyes", which is all about valuing your own vision and encouraging others to do the same.
FODO has always worked with its members to draw attention to the importance of good eye health and regular sight tests.
David Hewlett, FODO director of policy and strategy, said: "World Sight Day is an important occasion to raise awareness across the globe of looking after your eye health, which FODO fully supports. Everyone should love their eyes and make sure they go for regular sight tests, as advised by their eye health professional. This is particularly important as we are living longer and are therefore more vulnerable to irreversible sight loss."
